  Wednesday, April 26, 2023   INTRODUCING ROMANS, CHAPTER 3   It is by faith the Spirit of the law is made available to the Jew and Gentile, alike.  In Chapter 2 we understand that God's judgment on sin will come to all men, whether they were Jews who understood the law or Gentiles who had never had access to the literal law. Faith in God, in the heart, matters more to God than outward obedience. At the start of this chapter, Paul answers a series of hypothetical questions that were in opposition to the teachings found in Chapter 2. He goes on to quote a series of Old Testament passages that support His teaching that human beings are by nature sinful. Each of us turns away from God at some point in our lives. Therefore, nobody can be justified by the law. To be justified by the law one would have to follow it perfectly, at all times. This is impossible because human beings are by nature sinful. READING ROMANS, CHAPTER 2

  Wednesday, April 19, 2023   INTRODUCING ROMANS, CHAPTER 2   Having just concluded a list of terrible sins humanity indulges in as a result of rejecting God, Paul turns to religious people and says, ''This applies to you, too.'' {Review Romans 1: 28-32} Nobody can judge arrogantly, because we are all guilty. Even God's people the Jews will stand before Him in judgment based on their works. Having the law only matters if someone can keep the law. Paul asks his Jewish readers why they don't and shows that they must be Jewish and circumcised in their hearts for it to matter.   (https://www.bibleref.com/Romans/2/Romans-chapter-2.html) 1)God's Righteous Judgement (Part 1) 1-8, JEANNIE You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.   2  Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.
