      Welcome to Elnora’s Bible Study with Family & Friends . Elnora is our mother who was instrumental in launching this Bible study on Clubhouse in 2023. The questions we include in these studies were inspired by her. She would always develop questions for us to consider as we read and discussed the Word together. We decided to name this study after her because we love her so much and we want her to be known and remembered by as many people as possible here on earth. She went on to meet the Lord in July of 2024. We look forward to joining her in the presence God again.   Context for Chapter 2 Chapter 1 praised the Christians of Thessalonica for their spiritual growth and acts of love. This chapter seeks to correct a discouraging error present in that same church. Paul encourages these believers by stating that they have not missed out on the events described in his prior letter, they have not entered into the judgment of the ''day of the Lord.'' Paul explains that before that catastrophic time can begin, certain events must occur. These events include a widespread spiritual apostasy and the rise of a satanically-empowered figure. In Chapter 3 we will see Paul commend the value of a strong work ethic, both in a spiritual and a secular sense.
